In an interview with the Belgian daily De Morgen on December 27, 2014, the Bishop of Antwerp called for the Roman Catholic Church to recognise homosexual relationships, saying:
We must look within the Church for a formal recognition of relationship that is also present in many homosexual couples. Just as in society there is a variety of legal frameworks for couples, there should also be a variety of forms of recognition within the Church.
Apart from the Bishop of Antwerp, there are many bishops and cardinals who support gay marriage. Using a term like “the surprises of the Holy Spirit”, these Church leaders are constantly trying to undermine God’s laws and commandments. It is very likely that the Catholic Church will recognise gay union in the near future.
I believe it is past time that these so-called servants of God reread Leviticus 20:13, which clearly states:
If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination ….
As true servants of God, they should know that only Jesus can change God’s law on homosexuality. Yet Jesus said nothing against it.
Just because society views homosexuality as an alternative lifestyle, it doesn’t mean that God will see it that way. And even if the Roman Catholic Church and other Christian Churches recognise homosexual relationships, it doesn’t mean that God will.
